TCS CodeVita Season 14: Last Date, What Changed, and a 6-Week Plan

The short answer: TCS CodeVita Season 14 is open to science and engineering students who will finish their course in 2027, 2028, 2029 or 2030 (TCS CodeVita). TCS's listings on university career boards say registration closes on Friday, 13 November 2026 (TCS listing, Concordia). The first contest round is on 11–12 December (TCS listing, Cal Poly Pomona). Register by 12 November. Then use the MockVita 2 practice round on 13–14 November to learn the platform.

Many CodeVita pages copy one date list and stop there. Below, we show where each date comes from, what changed this season, and what to practise.

What is TCS CodeVita, and who can enter?

CodeVita is a global coding contest run by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). It started in 2012 (TCS CodeVita). You solve programming problems alone, online, against the clock.

To enter Season 14, you must be (TCS CodeVita):

• studying for a graduate or postgraduate degree,
• in any stream of science or engineering,
• expecting to finish in 2027, 2028, 2029 or 2030, and
• at a recognised institute anywhere in the world.

That covers most students from first year to final year this season. If you graduated in 2026 or earlier, you are outside the window.

Indian colleges are already sharing it. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's placement cell sent students a Season 14 notice on 25 September 2026 with the same eligibility rules (GGSIPU notice).

What is the last date to register for CodeVita Season 14?

The CodeVita website shows a "Register now" button but no dates (TCS CodeVita). The dates come from listings TCS has posted on university career boards. Here is what each one says:

Two things to know.

First, no listing gives a closing time. Concordia's board shows 13 November as an "all day" date and names no time zone (TCS listing, Concordia). In India, the cut-off could fall early on the 13th. So don't plan to register on the night of the 13th.

Second, the TCS listings we found were written for students in Canada and the US. Internshala, an Indian internships site, lists the same registration deadline, MockVita 2 and Round 1 dates, plus MockVita 1 on 23–24 October (Internshala). We found no India-only date list from TCS. After you register, check the dates shown in your CodeVita account.

Our advice: register by Thursday, 12 November. Take a screenshot when it is done.

What changed in Season 14?

Season 14 is shorter and tighter than last year. Here is the change, using TCS's own pages:

TCS says more about Rounds 2 and 3 will come after Round 1 (TCS CodeVita). One hint: in Season 13, TCS ran a side contest where the 30 finalists solved problems with AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude Sonnet and Gemini (TCS, 27 Feb 2026). That does not tell us what Season 14's later rounds will be.

TCS's Cal Poly listing adds two details: a 24-hour attempt window and 6 coding challenges (TCS listing, Cal Poly Pomona). Our reading is that you get 24 hours to start, and 3 hours once you begin. The main CodeVita site doesn't say this, so check your round email.

How big is it?

TCS says Season 13 had more than 669,000 registrations from 109 countries (TCS UK and Ireland). Guinness World Records counted 146,922 participants for its record (TCS, 27 Feb 2026). We can't tell how Guinness counted. But the gap is a good reminder: signing up is easy. Showing up and solving is the real step.

India did well. Of the 30 finalists, 22 were from India, and six Indian women made the top 30, the most ever (TCS, 27 Feb 2026).

How do you register?

TCS's registration guide lists seven steps (TCS Registration Guide):

1. Click Login/Register on the CodeVita home page.
2. Click Register.
3. Choose your region. Pick India if you study in India.
4. Fill in your account details.
5. Accept the terms and the consent statement.
6. Open the email TCS sends you and click the link to verify it.
7. Set up a one-time code using an authenticator app on your phone.

Step 7 trips people up. CodeVita's help page says that if you delete your authenticator account, you must use the "Deleted OTP Account?" option to set it up again. It also says don't delete it until the season ends (TCS CodeVita). Do the setup on a phone you will still have in December.

What do CodeVita questions look like?

The CodeVita site has a set of sample questions (TCS CodeVita). They show the style well:

The site has seven samples in all: four marked Complex and three marked Simple. Three patterns stand out:

• Long stories. A beetle walks on a cube to find honey. You must pull the real task out of the story.
• Tricky input. One sample gives all its numbers on one line, split by commas. Your code must read that exactly.
• Big limits, short time. Each sample has a 1-second time limit. One allows up to 10 million numbers as input. Slow code will fail.

It is open book, with one rule

CodeVita's help page says you may look at other material. But if you use code from a website, you must declare it before you submit. If you don't give the exact web address, your code "might be considered plagiarized" (TCS CodeVita).

The same help page has three more tips worth knowing (TCS CodeVita):

• You can solve the problems in any order.
• If you close your browser, you lose unsaved work. Save your code on your computer too.
• Your session ends after 15 minutes of doing nothing.

Can CodeVita lead to a job at TCS?

It can help, but it is not a promise. Here is what TCS itself has said:

• "Over the years, hundreds of participants have gone on to secure roles at TCS" (TCS, 27 Feb 2026).
• TCS's head of HR called CodeVita "an engaging, gamified recruitment platform" that helps TCS find "high-potential talent" (TCS, 27 Feb 2026).
• In past seasons, the top three coders got a chance to intern with TCS Research and Innovation (TCS, 24 Mar 2025).

The Season 14 page lists a global rank certificate for top coders and a trip to India for finalists. It does not mention job offers (TCS CodeVita). Some pages say a good rank brings an interview. We could not find that rule on a TCS page for this season.

What to do: treat CodeVita as strong practice and a real chance to be noticed. Don't skip your other placement plans for it.

CodeVita vs TCS NQT: which one is open to you?

They are different things, and people mix them up.

• CodeVita is a coding contest for students who finish in 2027 to 2030 (TCS CodeVita).
• TCS NQT hiring is TCS's fresher hiring test. Its page for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 batches shows registration as closed, with tests from 10 March 2026 (TCS NQT hiring).

If you graduated in 2024 to 2026, you can't enter CodeVita this season. Look at drives that are open to your batch, such as the one in our Infosys SP and DSE guide.

A 6-week plan to 11 December

Week 1 (now to 7 Nov): Register and set up. Register, verify your email and set up the authenticator. Pick one language from C, C++, Java or Python. Stick with it.

Week 2 (8–14 Nov): Input and MockVita 2. Practise reading odd inputs: commas, mixed lines, very large counts. Take MockVita 2 on 13–14 November (TCS listing, Cal Poly Pomona). Treat it like the real thing.

Week 3 (15–21 Nov): Maths. Primes, a prime sieve, factors, GCD and remainders. The factor-counting sample is a good start.

Week 4 (22–28 Nov): Grids and simulation. Walk through grids with BFS. Follow long rules step by step without missing a case. Try the Obstacle Game sample.

Week 5 (29 Nov–5 Dec): Harder patterns. Dynamic programming, greedy choices and basic geometry. Try the cube and cistern samples last.

Week 6 (6–10 Dec): Full mocks. Do two 3-hour practice rounds with no help. Read every problem first. Solve the easiest one fully before you chase a hard one. Rest the day before your slot.

How to stay safe

Edufusion is not connected to TCS and does not take CodeVita registrations. Register only on the CodeVita site at codevita.tcsapps.com.

TCS says it "does not ask for any sort of payment or security deposit from candidates at any stage of the recruitment process." It also says it never sends job offers from public email services like Gmail or Yahoo (TCS fraud alert). If someone offers a paid "CodeVita shortcut" or a job for money, walk away. Report it to careers@tcs.com or call the TCS Careers line, 1800-209-3111 (TCS fraud alert).

What we could not verify

• The CodeVita site shows no dates. The dates above come from TCS listings for students in Canada and the US, and from Internshala.
• We found no India-only schedule from TCS. Check your account after you register.
• The exact closing time on 13 November, and which time zone it uses. No listing we found says.
• The 24-hour window and the six problems come from one TCS listing, not the main CodeVita site.
• Whether a good rank in Season 14 brings a TCS interview in India. TCS has not said so on any page we could open.
